New to the boards & hysterectomy in 2 wks.

I have dogs (but I do like cats, I promise, and used to have cats until DH came into the picture and sneezed), but what about those Litter Maid cat boxes? They are about $50 and clean the litter box after each use. I think the box would hold at least a week's worth of two cat's *leave-behinds*, which would buy you some time until you are up to cleaning it out, even then, you wouldn't have to change the litter, just empty the little plastic box.

Or, I remember with my cats to keep the dog out of the litter, I put their litter box on top of the dryer. My cats did okay with this, but some cats wouldn't like a change in their bathroom location.

Good luck! Pets are so important, and they will help with your recovery so much! They are so calming and very perceptive to what's going on...and they demand very little.
