Upcoming hysterectomy 12/12: Let's get real: wiping my rear

Wiping my rear is already a problem, due to the basketball- to watermelon-size mass pressing on my spine/nerves and causing a great deal of sciatica and back pain!!! This has been getting worse over the last several months. The mass is a new discovery...and quite shocking for me...

Because of the size of the mass, I will have the vertical incision...likely from sternum to pelvis...simply to accommodate its removal.

Other than possibly a "bidet bottle" what else might be helpful for getting myself clean!? I might have help in the hospital, initially, but at home...I will be on my own.

Re: Let's get real: wiping my rear

If your surgery will be to remove your mass, I don't think you'll have the issue afterwards once that pressure is gone. It's easy enough to reach where you need to post-op.

Your title grabbed my attention!

Actually bought myself some of those flushable wipes for after my surgery! Wanted to make sure that whole area was good and clean

I bought the bidet bottle I'm thinking about picking up some flushable wipes also. My main concern is actually sitting on the toilet and having my flab flop over the incision. That just seems like it would be horribly uncomfortable.

Re: Let's get real: wiping my rear

Even with such a long incision, Cussette!? I am very concerned with pulling the really long incision, afterwards. I guess I didn't explain that, properly, in my original post.

(I would have quoted, but I get 'dinged' that I cannot have that many smilies. Ugh.)

Re: Let's get real: wiping my rear

Wet wipes have been my thing, for a long while, ladies.

I was concerned with reaching well enough, while managing to NOT pull my extra long incision.

The 'bidet bottle' seemed like a really good option, as long as I can sit there and air-dry a while.

I wasn't sure if anyone else had another option...that I couldn't think of.

Thank you, ladies. I had to be 'real'.

My boyfriend bought me some flushable wipes after my surgery, they were quite helpful.

I will say a prayer that as with me, my lower back pain was virtually eliminated when that mess of a mass was removed!!!!

I don't know dimensions, only that my uterus was cut into 3 pieces for my vaginal removal. I had 6 large fibroids.
"THEY GONE!!!" Yay!
