Re: Lenexa area

I am on the very west side of Lenexa, close to Lawrence. I am doing okay. Didn't know this was going to be such a long recovery. I thought I'd be walking a mile-ha, no deal. I feel very lazy and hate that I can't lift more than 20lbs and I get tired fast, but I am hanging in there. How are you doing? You are further out from your surgery than me. Did you have any of the prolapse repair?

Re: Lenexa area

No, I did not have any prolapse repair. I had the DaVinci, had my cervix, uterus, tubes, and fibroids removed, keep ovaries. No matter what they did, I just would not stop bleeding. Dr. thought I had cancer, all tests can back clear. Very thankful!!!!

It does get better, you just have to allow yourself time. I wish there was a local group, would really like to have a group of ladies to meet with.

Re: Lenexa area

I would like a group to chat with too. I am sure there are more of us that are local, but you are the only one that responded to my post. Wonder if local hospital knows of any groups or the doctor office might know. I'll check next week at my 6wk post op appt.

Re: Lenexa area

I know I would definitely appreciate having others to connect to. I briefly said something to my dr about it, but she didn't really reply. I actually need to call her, so I will asks again. How are you doing this week?

Re: Lenexa area

Hi, Ladies. I'm not in Lawrence-Lenexa area anymore, out by Salina, KS, now, but I used to live in Lawrence and work in Overland park. I am due for a LAVH and A&P repairs on June 28, and a little anxious. Have grade 3 uterus prolapse, cystocele and rectocele as well. I am 47, and have been trying to decide whether to keep ovaries or not.... Do keep posting as you both recover. It has been really helpful to me to get an idea what to expect by reading others' stories on this site.

Re: Lenexa area

Welcome to Neighborhoods!

Just a friendly reminder for those already familiar with the forums, and to explain for the benefit of any new members, all our forums have a unique purpose with "Neighborhoods" intended for topics unrelated to surgery. (Please check out the forum descriptor). We ask that hysterectomy discussions be conducted in the dedicated areas to avoid missing out on the awesome support available elsewhere on the site in, for example, the <links> Pre-Op and Post-Op forums where all members can respond!

To avoid duplicating the intended purpose of our forums, we’ll look forward to seeing you over on the hysterectomy boards for your support needs and questions, but hope you'll still continue to enjoy local interests and friendships here!

With best wishes and many thanks!
