Aunt Flo's Final Visit -- I Remember The First!

I was in Frankfurt, Germany on a business trip yesterday when Aunt Flo arrived for her final stay (and do you know, she had the nerve to be a day late!)

It made me remember my "first time". That was January too. I had spent the morning at the shops with my mother and she had bought me a parka (very fashionable in the early 1970s). In the afternoon, I had to go an work in an old folks' home for a community project I was doing. I thought that everyone could tell my new grown up status

I hopped, skipped and jumped past the sanitary protection shelf in the supermarket this evening, knowing that I will never have to spend money on that ever again.

My *friend* is trying to show up for the last time now. Got cramps, pain and all of that. I, too, wild skip happily past the kotex and tampax ailse. Can't wait!

I am counting down. I have 3 more to go because I'm not scheduled until May. However, I stocked up on those supplies at a sale just before I got the surgery news, so I won't have to buy anymore until DD hits puberty.

gee- i remember my 1st time too. i was 11 in the 6th grade? . and without a clue. my mother never told me. so i went to the school nurse. who did a minimal run down of the situation. I remember going home and i still didn't get the sex talk. but mom said so "now you are a woman" and i was still confused. and i wasn't at all happy about what my body was doing.

I am happy to join the "last period" celebration!! I just had the last day of mine (day 9) and will be so pleased NEVER to it again!!

What I remember most about the first one was I told my Mom then she turns around and announces at the dinner table that I am a woman. Okay I was 12 my brother was 19 and my grandma was there. Where the heck was that rock to crawl under.

And must add.... who the heck ever came up with the term FRIEND !!!!! Had to ba a man or a real sarcastic woman.
