Last Period
Broke open my last bag of official Period Pads yesterday. I will still have them on hand for my daughters, and for post surgery, but this one will be my last period.
I will not miss the mess, the smell, the CRAMPS and the stained sheets and mattress. Blech.
I got my period when I was 9. I am 45. Enough already.

Re: Last Period
Yippppey...i'm right here with you eklkel...I just got my last cycle starting today and I've been thinking the same thing...last go round with the embarrassing show stoppers every month. I'm scheduled for TVH June 2nd, so we're on our way. One thing i was concerned about was hoping my cycle was over before surgery...so it looks like we'll be free by then...Best wishes to you and see you on the Post Op board in a couple of weeks.

Re: Last Period
I'm on my last period also. I am ready to say goodbye and good riddance to "Aunt Flo". She has been a beast. I won't miss her at all. I am scheduled for June 9th tvh and a whole slew of additional stuff. I am ready. I think I'm more ready for June 10th....when the healing begins. Hang in there.....23 more days for me.

Re: Last Period
I think that my body knows. Lots of clotting and heavy pad use, too. Double blech.

Re: Last Period
ekl, I laughed when I read your post--I was thinking the same thing about 6 hours ago! I'm having my last period this week, and while today is day 5, I had terrible cramps all day and passed a major clot at the store. I came home and told my husband that my uterus knows what's going on and is being vengeful. 10 more days!

Re: Last Period
You know, until you mentioned it, I had not thought about the smell. And yes, there is a distinctive smell, even to the tampon box.
What I find interesting now, is that, if I am around a woman who is having her period, I can tell. It is the scent of the tampons. It is weird. I am in the wine biz, so my nose is very trained to pick up scents. This is one I wish I could forget. LOL!
