Hysterectomy in the morning (10/24) and I'm terrified.

I am a little afraid of the surgery itself because I'm in the moderate risk category for something going wrong due to my trouble breathing.

What I'm really afraid of though, is that I'll regret it. We never had kids, and because of my infertility we were never blessed with them. It just feels so FINAL!

Sex, I fear sex will never be the same again. I really need a hysterectomy though. I have adenomyosis and endometriosis that gives me monthly searing pain. Sometimes it's so bad I'll scream and/or vomit. So this isn't just a hysterectomy for convenience sake. I just needed to get that off of my chest. Does anybody else feel this way?

I had my hysterectomy yesterday... it went really well... minimal pain... don't be afraid... Ask God to give you peace and focus on feeling better... You will get through it... Praying for you.

I am scheduled for surgery today as well. I was nervous the first round, but not with this doctor.

Now, to me it sounds as if your greatest issue may be not having children. If that is the case, and none of the alternatives will work for you, go seek therapy and explore other options to become a parent. We will be fine as we take this journey!
