There no way to know how your husband will respond, but odds are good that he'll find you a whole lot more attractive after you've recover from the surgery than he does right now. There's not much that's fun or sexy about people who are in pain.

My mother was 33 when she had a hysterectomy. She was cute, funny and sexy even as an older woman. Men adored her even when she got wrinkled because you could tell that the wrinkles were from laughing. It was always clear that my father considered himself a very lucky man. One of my favorite stories about her was when a doctor tried to sell her on HRT in her 50's with the promise that it would improve her sex life. She told him to give the stuff to my father because the only thing wrong with her sex life was that he was starting to have trouble keeping up with her!

Moral 1: The most important sex organ is the brain.
Moral 2: Life is much better if you laugh easily and often.

Wow. Did you really feel that great immediately? That is wonderful to hear. I'm having an LSH on the 28th as well, I hope to be as fortunate. Did you experience gas pain, swelly belly?

Re: I am so scared

The respiratory stuff was really scary, but the hysterectomy part has been far easier than I expected. "Great" might be going a bit far, I feel unbelievably fortunate especially considering that I'm 58. I have minor gas pains occasionally, but nothing like some women experience. I've had a few twinges, but I've been very careful to cease and desist at the slightest hint of discomfort. I still tire easily.

I do have a huge swelly belly. I'm glad I kept my 20 pounds heavier pants! Being unable to get into your favorite jeans and not having a cute substitute isn't going to help your emotional state, so I strongly suggest finding some cute, very loose pants with a drawstring waist.
