IUD/ring to control bleeding from fibroids?

Thank you SO MUCH for your post. I'm on Depo Provera shots. I had one a couple months ago and bled constantly. Now, however, my bleeding has stopped. However, I don't like the way I feel on Depo Provera. No sex drive at all and the same constant vaginal discharge you described. I have to wear a pad all the time (not pantyliner). While my bleeding problem seems to be solved, the side effects are not acceptable. I'm going through with my hyst on 4/28.

As far as using the IUD w/other medications goes..

I took high dosages of progestins for a few months (320mg Megestrol/day) while using the IUD, so there doesn't seem to be a problem there (for those that tolerate progestins well)

I'm just on low dose BCP--they have .5 mg of norethindrone (which I think is the progeseterone)--so shouldn't be any problem. I did get some side effects from a BCP with higher dose of progesteron, but nothing *too* horrible.

I sent my gyn e-mail today asking for more info about the IUD, but no reply yet.
