Phew...I really appreciate hearing from you! I was feeling alone with this pain and thinking it was going to be with me for the duration. Cidwolf...sorry things are going so slowly...I just went back to work part time last week...and I find it so tiring...so take the time to get well and feel better.
LavendeRose, thanks for the hugs and the input...much needed! Right back at you! Thanks
Jo

I'm 9 weeks post op and this is my first full week back at work. I started part time the week of the 17th and then had two 3-day weeks. It was really good timing!

My abdomen is tender to the touch too, especially when I brush up against the kitchen counter doing dishes.

My dress pants don't bother me. My incision is horizontal and very low, maybe that's why.

When I'm on my feet for a long time or do a lot of housework I feel kind of achy. Sometimes the two ends of my incision ache too.

I had a really bad week of the brain fog when I first went back to work. Fortunately it was short-lived. The warm flushes aren't too bad - a few a day - and mostly when I'm doing housework.

I can't imagine working out yet. I wasn't in good shape before the surgery but I can really notice a difference now when I go up two flights of stairs with the laundry. But then I didn't do anything for a long time.

Hope you all are feeling better each day. 2008 will be a much better year with this behind us!

hey my op vag hyst on 1st nov.. Just to support you, i still have pain if i stand tooo long, which I am afraid i do, as I work at Curves, so well done for trying to get back to the swing of it. I think we all forget once the immediate pain has gone, that we still are at recovery stage.

I've been feeling twinges/pulls on my right back. Has anyone else experience this? It doesn't really hurt, but definately noticeable. Maybe doing to much?

Hey Netty67...thanks for your response as it's nice to hear from a fellow Curves person! I appreciate all the feedback...it really is helpful!
I have pain under the incision and mainly to the left side of it. Yesterday I felt pains beside my belly button and the incision doesn't go that high. So I'm worried that I have adhesions..don't know what they feel like or how severe the pain is with them. Just over 1 week post op I had a bout of vomiting and diarrhea which lasted the night and tore open my inscision...so I wonder what it did to the internal stitches?
I appreciate the feedback...anyone else know what adhesions are like?
tks

I feel like I had a personal victory this week! I didn't take any naps!

Before the surgery I was sleeping 8-9 hours at night and taking a 1-2 hour nap when I got home from work.

After the surgery I had to take a nap to get through the day but then I'd lay in bed when I was good and tired and I wouldn't fall asleep for 1-2 hours.

So this week is a huge change for me. I'm hoping maybe my iron supply is building back up.

Does anyone know how long it takes to not be anemic after a hysterectomy?

Cidwolf: so sorry you're still having problems. My TAH was on Nov. 8 and I still have a sore belly and am nauseated from time to time. I'm going to see my family doctor this Friday as my bowels are not normal either and I think this is the reason for my nausea. Hope things improve for you and I hope if anyone else has a sore belly still that they will write in as I wonder if this is normal. I guess everyone is different which accounts for some of this but it's well over 2 months and a full day of work takes it's toll on me. Hugs to you and prayers for healing.

I was having sharp pains in my lower right abdomen about 10 years ago. When I had my tubes tied the surgeon found my liver was adhered to my rib cage (probably from child birth) and the adhesion was removed. I just remember piercing sharp pains but they only last lasted a few seconds each time.
