Counting down - getting anxious

I am starting to cross the days off of the calendar. LSH scheduled for 4/29. I am looking forward to having the surgery behind me and heading down the road to recovery.

Any suggestions on preparing before surgery? I feel like I should be doing something here at home but am not sure where to start.

Re: Counting down - getting anxious

Hi luv 2 camp, you have found the right place for questions! Some things I did before surgery was to cook and freeze food I liked. People do bring things but you might not like them. Also if you can line some people up to take you grocery shopping. I went yesterday after three weeks post-opp and it wiped me out! The weekend before the surgery I invited my friends over for wine and a book swap. They left me with dozens of new books I have been reading while recovering. Also this is weird but have lots of clean underwear and pajamas ready to go. Trust me you don't feel like laundry. Good luck to you and stay on hyster sisters. The ladies have answers to everything!

Re: Counting down - getting anxious

A few things I did prior to surgery:
Spring cleaning floor to ceiling upstairs and downstairs, because I knew if I saw something that needed to be done afterward, I would do it and probably hurt myself in the process.
Bought enough groceries to get through at least 2 weeks. Easy meals the hubby could prepare.
Changed the sheets on my bed the night before surgery, plugged in phone charger behind bed so I wouldn't have to reach for it.
Brought extra toiletries upstairs so I had everything I needed upstairs with me.
Went for a pedicure with some girlfriends since I knew it would be a while until I could do it myself.
Bookmarked this page so I could report back on how I was doing post op.
Good luck to you!
