I was happy to not stay overnight at the hospital, and there was no need to because I didn't have any complications. With your surgery being minimally invasive, you will be in great shape to go home the same day, I'm sure.
Hey - I am having something similar - not with Da Vinci, but a laparoscopic plus a bikini line incision to remove very large fibroids/uterus. How has your recovery been? This method is being used to avoid a giant vertical cut but still allow removal without having to chop everything up too much.

Re: Upcoming Out patient hysterectomy 1/8

Hi Erin! My recovery has been great! I'm actually surprised it has gone so well with all those incisions. I think the doctor did mine that way because there was a question about whether there was cancer or not (it wasn't) and he didn't want to cut it up. I have had no complications, except for a rash on the incisions from dermabond. I only needed painkillers the first day. and was able to get around pretty good right away. Now I'm 2 1/2 months out and have some occasional soreness but feel really great.

I just got home 2 hours ago. I'm doing a lot better then expected. I can walk around, just pressure right now due to the medication I still have on board. But I'm clear headed now. No bleeding. I'm very happy with my results! Good luck to you!! Xo

I am having the same surgery on 1/22 and was wondering the same about no hospital stay. Sounds like it is pretty common nowadays! Hope your surgery went well!

Hey! I am 8 days out and I feel great! I was able to go down stairs and relax in my wing back chair today. Only slight muscle fatigue but I stayed in bed for 7 days almost. Just getting up to go to the bathroom and stretch. Don't push it! The only pain I had was from constipation and gas. Definitely take a stool softener and relax!
