Here are a number of resources and items coming up for Sept for Ovarian cancer month:

http://www.ovarian.org/
Note that in Cincinnati on Sept 11th there is a Race to Break the Silence on ovarian cancer, check your state for similar walks

Ovarian Cancer Organization has several items including Sept 3rd as Wear Teal Day

and a beautiful limited edition teal bracelet - http://www.ovariancancer.org/2010/08...now-available/
They also talk about Turning the America Teal, aka the United States of Teal -http://www.unitedstatesofteal.org/

The Gynecological Cancer Fund - Women's network has set the date for the 2011 Race in Washington, although you can't register for it yet, it references Nov 5th, 2011:

Listing of a variety of support groups for ovarian and uterine cancer:

Re: Gynecologic Cancer Awareness, Fundraising Opportunities, Special Links

Thanx for all of the information, but trying to find one of them that actually will support UTERINE CANCER, not so much

September is GYN Cancer Month, not just Ovarian Cancer - so herein lies my frustration -

I've been in touch with the Ovarian group in Cincinnati with their "race" they have no interest in supporting or providing information at their event for anything other than OVARIAN.

Nationaly - the GCF will send information that is usable to distribute, but again, there is no direct support - a national run in 2011 in DC?,, they had a health fair in Indy in 2010, but no type of advocy other than Minnesota.

I guess I should just be glad that my doc's were able to remove everything and I don't have to worry about getting any additional support. Since it seems if you've been "cured" then you should just go away.

In order to help women know what's going on in their bodies, women have to speak up and get the word out and teach others about Gyn Cancers in general

I apparently am fighting a loosing battle to find support and promote advocate and help women.

Monday 7:30pm cst ovarian call

Hi,

It is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. I wanted to invite everyone to dial in on this conference call. The link is below. I will share my story briefly but there will be a lot of great information on the call.

I was diagnosed at age 33 with stage 4 ovarian cancer (primary peritoneal). I am BRCA+ and really care about people and being able to share my experience in order for others to make important decisions.

You can RSVP once you look at the flier.

Since i cannot post the link to the flier about Monday night's call, please google be bright pink and on the right hand side of their website there is an area you can click on that says September 20, Ovarian Health 101 National Conference call.

Thanks,
niki

Re: Gynecologic Cancer Awareness, Fundraising Opportunities, Special Links

The November issue of Ladies Home Journal published a story about a woman and her mom's journey with Ov Ca. It talks about symptoms that women often ignore, and says to be your own advocate.
It's (nice) to see something in mainstream media talk about something other than breast ca.

The HysterSisters & Misters team is ready and waiting to walk in Washington DC this Sunday Nov 6. We may be small (4 of us are walking) but we're mighty we've raised over 5K for the effort. The Foundation is hopin to raise $250,000 for women's gyn cancer research and education.

If you are interested in support the team go to:

https://www.active.com/donate/endwomenscancer/HSisters

There's still time to be part of the effort even if you can't be here in person.
