Medicare pay on Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy?

My Dr. mentioned the possibility of my needing to go for Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy after my VAG hysterectomy, rectocele and cystocele repairs, plus bladder sling.
Does anyone know if Medicare pays on that type of physical therapy? (If Medicare pays first, then my insurance will pay the rest. If it does not pay first then my insurance pays nothing...and I could NOT afford to have it)
Thanks in advance for any info anyone can provide!

Re: Medicare pay on Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy?

Hi Stampit3d,

They paid for mine 2 year ago. They stop paying when you no longer show any improvement. It was a good thing for me and I had a very sensitive therapist. So glad I went but it didn't work miracles because I am past menopause so not enough hormones to make the muscle come back completely. Hope it helps you.

Sister Hugs,
Anndy

Re: Medicare pay on Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy?

That`s great to know. I guess if I need to go I`ll just have to tell them to let me know if there is anything that Medicare does`nt pay for, and that we won`t be able to do.
I`m sure that aprox. $2,000-$4,000 can be used up pretty quickly....medical things are quite costly, as we all know.....so I`ll have to make the most of whatever they can do for me, as I try to get myself back to as normal as an older lady can be.
Thanks you for letting me know....and although I`m glad you were helped, I`m sorry they could`nt "do miracles" for you......(although, being 67 myself I`m not looking to be 16 again either....guess we take what we can get and be thankful for what we have, eh?)

You got that right. My glass is definitely half full. And grateful for it.

My thought are with you on Nov. 6th.
