It's been 3 months now, and I still don't like anything rubbing my incision, so sensitivity must vary between people as well.
My incision is very sensitive too but from I'd read, I thought I'd have trouble just standing upright and I never did. Maybe that's unrelated to the direction of the incision though.

Re: TAH: vertical versus horizontal incision

My vertical incision is very sensitive! I've had 2 c-sections by bikini incision and I healed far faster from those. In fact, I kept feeling like my incision was going to split open.

At 7 weeks p/o, I struggle to wear anything on my belly. Going to work Monday should be interesting....sundresses are not acceptable dress so I've got nothing!!!

Re: TAH: vertical versus horizontal incision

endo_gal, I had the same work clothing dilemma - I wound up buying "end of season" business bargains to get me through hopefully to October. I bought my size, but in the women's department, so instead of a 14, I bought a 14W - to get a bit more room in the waist line. I figure by autumn I have to be back in my regular clothes, right?

Catarina - I understand what you mean about standing up. With my first surgery I had a lot of difficulty standing up straight. I was determined this time to keep that from happening and stood up tall from day one. I managed it much better this time, and I don't know what was the difference, perhaps just my determination.
