Christy,
Another great progress report! I wish my libido was fully back. My boyfriend is waiting patiently, but I just don't feel aroused. Still having those hot flashes, but my doc wants me to wait to see if the one ovary he left will wake up some more. Then he will consider the estrogen patch (bioidential hormone).

I remember when I was walking with my friend only a couple of weeks ago and lagging behind her (she has some leg disabilities too). Then yesterday, she could not keep up with me, so I know I'm improving! Less pain, hardly ever use my swelly belly band anymore, and my appetite is back! I realize, like you said, that we still need to keep slowly advancing towards full activities, always listening to our bodies.

Soon, I think I will visit the newbie section who just got out of the hosptial and give them some encouragement and hugs. We all needed it, and it's our way of giving back.

Hugs and blessings to everyone!
Linda

Hello All! It is great to hear the encouraging reports! I have my 6 week post op appointment on Tuesday. When I got out of the hospital, this appointment seemed years away. Woo hoo, it is almost here!

I noticed some swelling last night in my belly. I was on my feet or sitting straight up in a chair all day yesterday. My body letting me know I still need to relax some during the day.

I haven't started an exercise routine as of yet. I have just been walking around the house. I am planning on starting up at the gym again soon. I will just start out on the treadmill and eventually get back to resistence. Can't wait! I have really missed that.

Keep up the healing! Have a great weekend.

Hi All,

Had my post op appt. and we were so focused on my hormone leve and anxiety I think she forgot to check me. The hormone balance and anxiety have been the worst problem for me. I don't have any pain which is great. She changed my dosage of estrogen, upped it a bit and I'm going back to see her again in 2 weeks.

My DH and I finally did it. It was nice but different. I'm much looser down there as if there is more room. That was a bit strange. I did unfortunately have some bleeding afterward. Did anyone else have that? Maybe I need to wait a while and when I see the doc. in 2 weeks I guess I should have her check to see if everything is healing okay.

I'm feel better with the change in meds. I hope it continues.

I hope everyone continues to feel well and get healthy.

I wish you all a wonderful weekend.

Blessings to all,
Kathy

Kathy,

I hope you get the hormones all taken care of. I am not looking forward to that adjustment period. The book I just read by Vliet has made me determined to find a doctor that will test my blood to get me to the right levels.

I didn't bleed after sex but I was sore for 3 days. I am fine now but I hope that doesn't keep happening.

Hi friends..I'm not sure if this is something anyone can help me with or not but today when I was going to the bathroom I felt a little tug and when I wiped I checked the tissue. There was a 2 inch stitch on it.. with a knot on one end. I thought all stitches were dissolvers so this blew my mind. Any ideas why this would occur?
thanks,
stringy

Some of the ladies said they were passing stitches around 3 weeks. I never did. I think all of my stitches were inside. I don't think it is anything to worry about. You could always give your dr a call just to set your mind at ease.

Thanks CaJen for your note. I need to find a specialist probable an endocrinologist since I had graves disease in the past so they can regulate my hormones and thyroid. Thanks for you thoughts I appreciate it. I need to read some books too on the subject matter. I need some help in this area.

Thanks again,
Kathy

At my 6 weeks checkup my Dr. told me I still had some stitches inside and they would pass. She told me if I had any strings come out to not be alarmed. She said some would probably absorb through my body and the others would pass. I never saw big strings but some little ones every now and then. When me and my honey first had intercourse I seemed to be much tighter. I still am after 13 weeks post op. I guess it depends on the person. My honey loves it.

Hi, My doctor told me to expect that. They are the stitches from where the cervix was removed. Not to worry. Karrie

Hrt

Good morning, ladies

I don't know how much longer I can live with the hot and cold flashes, mood swings and lack of sleep, not to mention zero libido. I know HRT is a very complicated and individual matter, but I would like to know if any of you have started any kind of hormone replacement, either natural or pharmaceutical? I'm about to call my doc today and ask him to for a lab slip to check my hormone levels and then go from there. When you reply, please state if you have kept one or both ovaries.

Thanks and hope everyone feels better today.
