Can you hear my knees hit the ground and say a prayer thanking the dear lord that I have health insurance!
I thougt I heard a "thud".....once upon a time I would have thought that it as my uterus....but for the first time I realized...nope, that can't be it.

That's the other difference between civilian hopitals and military hospitals.....I'll never see a bill for anything going with me. I can only imagine what the cost of this process would be. ::::::

G'ma wouldn't give you pain meds? Oh no, that is NOT cool, I'm thinkin' I would have told G'ma to lovingly shove it and headed home with my meds and holed myself up in the bedroom! I'm glad ur home now so you can NOT be in pain!
I hate when ppl think they can tell you you're NOT in pain... HELLO internal ORGAN(s) removed here!!!

I slept well last night- thanks to sleeping pills.
Got a big day ahead:

1. show my rental unit to a prospective tenant
2. take the dog to the groomer (normally I groom her but I just cannot lift her and handle her right now)
3. Swing by GYN office to pick up Percocet prescription refill.
4. to pharmacy for darn refill

I fully expect that I will NEED the refill after doing all this today... sigh... I have learned that my tummy makes me PAY when I overdo it. I will nap later on...

Post op day 13. dh has been wonderful -does have to scold me from time to time. I'm starting to get bored, have never watched so much tv in my life. On day 8 went to family DR with symptoms of extreme pressure to urinate, burning, and pale pink spotting. UTI was diagnosis and I've added cipro to daily meds. Scar is healing nicely and binder comes off from time to time because its so itchy. I want to work in my flower beds and would love to exercise, but not yet. I have made 3 reservations at Elkmont in GSMNP for June July and August. Would like to camp again in April. (We have not been since our 30th Anniversary in February). I have lost 13 lbs and still must watch diet or I pay for it in gas. Hope all of you are doing well and patience is a virtue. Hang in there.

Day 11 Post-Op

Was feeling pretty good yesterday, with all my added activity. Sort of made dinner with help of 17 year old daughter. Slept well, a bit of tossing and turning though. Today, feel a heaviness and aching down below. Back to some pain meds for today. Trying to do a little laundry today, otherwise just resting. Getting a bit down, but at least there is sunshine for now. I want green grass and leaves on trees.

I had great walk yesterday, very slow, cell phone in hand, but once I got going it was wonderful. I loved being outside, soooo good to get outdoors. Today will be a PJ day. Had a rough sleep last night, very hot (probably not a hot flash yet as I am not sure and my sis says when I have one I'll be sure) then I had a tickle in my throat, who would believe coughing hurt so much. The coughing ignited pain which made it more difficult to sleep so I finally got out of bed to a percocet as the pain was keeping me up and at least got a little bit of sleep.

I had always had bouts of insomnia and now with the ovaries gone I am not sure what is usual or what is symptomatic of menopause. My 23 year old dd wrote me a beautiful card last night on how I am her hero and it brings me to tears - actually I could ball. I know I am a good cry just waiting to happen.

The walk was great, I highly recommend it. But don't overdo it or be silly about it. thanks maetigger for the concern, however I knew the kids weren't in school and I know most of them on the block and that they's be out if I got myself into trouble.

Have a great day ladies

Hey jenn4july

Actually, back in my breast feedling days I use to put cooled tea bags on my sore nipples. Something about the tanic acid. However I remember once when I had tea bags on my nipples lying on my bed I fell a sleep ( as baby was sleeeping) and when I woke up they had dried to my nipples and I panicked and yanked them off. Ouch - I still feel the pain. A note of caution -don't let the tea bags dry,

The place where the uterus was needs to be filled with chocolate. Eat some immediately.
