How scary! Glad you got in when you did and they were able to operate right away. Hopefully you're now finally on a path toward healing.

Swshea - you definitely have your hands full at home! Glad you have so much help. I agree with your husbands theory. I told my husband I felt like this recovery and the pain were in layers. As soon as one thing is better or stops hurting, you become aware of something different that you didn't even know was bothering you. Crazy.

At this point I'm pretty sure my belly button incision is infected. I just put in a call to my Dr. and I'm waiting to hear back. I'm hoping he'll prescribe antibiotics and I don't have to go all the way to his office.

It is definitely red and inflamed with some drainage. I had a rough night - fever, nausea, pain, drainage, and even diarrhea. I did not sleep well. I don't have my spleen so that makes me prone to infection. My body just can't fight it. I can care for the incision, but I can't get past the infection without antibiotics. Hoping I hear back from him early and can get meds started quickly.

I’m a SAHM of 6 kids, 3 are autistic and another is dyslexic, and I homeschool, so I work but don’t get paid haha. So I have extra help right now getting all that done. Our ABA therapy has been a godsend for keeping my autistic kids in their routine and they’re doing great. My husband goes back to work tomorrow and my parents are here until Saturday.
Wow. Respect. My only son is very severely autistic so I know the challenges all too well. He is 14, and my ex is raising him because my son is bigger than me now. I only saw him for a minute since surgery, and I miss him terribly, but he sometimes gets aggressive with me, and Im terrified to get hurt in places that should be babied now.

Oh so sorry, hope you heard back from doctor this afternoon. They might want to see you anyway. If you did not hear back from them it might be worth putting in another after hours call into service, as some doctor should be covering. Other option is a visit to urgent care/walk in clinic. Let us know how things go.

Sending you healing hugs

surgery- total hysterectomy. I fought against this for several years opting for d&c's and blood infusions for a lining that continually thickened and shed due to hrt. The hrt is needed as I have estrogen deficient arthritis. Hrt keeps me mobile.

Textbook removal of some seriously messed up parts. They took everything but the ovaries. Adenomyosis found, there for decades I would guess and all the pain and constipation and issues that go with that along w some odd lil benign growths.

Even though at day 12 I am in crampy achy pain every time I try to accomplish anything it is still such a relief to have that weight removed from my abdomen. Taking ibuprofen to help the the swelling and inflammation. Using a post op panty since day one for belly support. I can pee normally at this point, and working on the other with some stool softeners.

Life is good today

By the way, how much FMLA time did you get and when do you plan to get back into the thick of things, if you don't mind sharing.

I'm so sorry you're having a bad day!!! Sending you virtual hugs and comfort!!! I actually didn't qualify for FMLA with my job because I've been there less than a year, luckily I was able to get Short Term at least. Hope you had a better evening and have a fantastic tomorrow!!!!!

I am supposed to start working from home tomorrow and may go to my office mid morning to print some reports. I actually look forward to stopping in and saying hello to my workmates. It will be nice to see faces that I'm not married to or related to LOL! I'm not sure how much work I'll really be able to tackle at first. I'm not necessarily comfortable in the same position for very long so I move around the house a lot. Also the brain fog thing kind of comes and goes. My work is very detail oriented and I'm not sure I can focus for very long.

Take care and feel better.
I went back to work today, but because I’ve been working from home now for exactly 1 year, I’m able to ease back into my emails and paperwork. I’m only working partial days this week supplementing the remaining hours with PLT (used the sick days I had last week). I was actually able to sit at my desk until 2 but once I got up the last time I could tell I was a bit sore.

Has anyone else been experiencing menopause type symptoms? I’m getting hot flashes a few times during the day, have had a hard time falling asleep and last night my legs were so restless! My upper legs have been a bit achey too but I feel like it’s from walking. I took a magnesium earlier as I read that can help with the legs.
