Looking into hysterectomies (age 24) - Did anything funky happen with your hormones after your surgery?

Hi there! I'm new to the scene, and I started looking into hysterectomies because my periods have always been more hassle than they're worth. I don't have any seriously life-threatening conditions caused by my uterus (thank God), but since I'm only 24, I know my doctors and family won't take me seriously for wanting to remove my uterus "just for not liking it."

My question is, though: Did anything funky happened with your hormones after your surgery?
So far, my research isn't showing anything for that (except for early menopausal symptoms if you remove your ovaries too).

Perhaps you should seek out a specialist? I suffered from endometriosis for years and no ordinary gyno ever suspected it. After the pain was so bad in my late 30s i finally saw a specialist for endometriosis. She could tell I had it by a simple ultrasound because mine was so severe. I am in surgical menopause but i am on HRT so i feel great. At your age, you should seek out why your periods are so miserable before saying you need a hysterectomy.
