I feel like a crazy woman
I swear, every since I found out about this surgery and have the date fixed, I act like a crazy woman. I feel like I have PMS on steroids. I hope this is normal. I do not know if it is the thought of the operation or the removal of my uterus/no more kids thing that is bugging me.
Thankfully I have several someone's to watch the kids so I do not have to go into surgery alone.
Has anyone had any other anti-anxiety meds given to them for the night before the operation, or given anything other than Versed in pre-op? I do not really want amnesia, but could use the relaxtion part.
2 more weeks until my pre-op appointment and am adding questions to the list everyday.

A Little Crazy Too
Hi Christy,
Don't worry I'm a little crazy too! My pre-op is tomorrow! I'm trying not to think about it because I will truly freak myself out! My surgery date is March 14! I'll have TAH/BSO.
Take Care,

I feel like a crazy woman
Hi there! My doctor gave me a prescription for Ambien to sleep, in case I freak out once I get closer to "the date". She gave me enough of them that I would have some left for after surgery, if I get insomnia, too. She said it was a very reasonable request, so maybe if you ask your doc, s/he will give you something similar! It can't hurt to ask!!
Hang in there! Everyone says the waiting is the hardest part!!!

I feel like a crazy woman
My pre op is tomorrow too. I printed out the checkpoints, and then scribbled my own stuff all over it, made a list of stuff I wanted or needed for the castle on the back. I think its probably the 10th list I've made.....there are probably some in my office too lol. Now I just need to get it in my purse so I don't forget it!!
I get a script for 10 adavan a month for anxiety, and the doc said it will be fine if I take one the night before. I've had versed and remembered everything till I got the count down in the OR. I had some other anxiety stuff when I was in labor that was absolutely horrible, I hope its listed in my charts!
prayers for your surgery and recovery, see you on the other side!

I feel like a crazy woman
I right here with you! I have had constant butterflies in my stomach, except it feels more like a small flock of seagulls or something. I just can't focus on anything and my mind is racing.
My pre-op is tommorrow too! It is all coming up quick.
Guess I should ask for something too, tired of talking to the office staff though!

I feel like a crazy woman
You all have made me feel less crazy than I thought I was..My surgery is Mar 21 and I feel like I eat, sleep and breathe this. I also have made 1000 lists, feel very disorganized, hear so many horror stories; I have literally changed my mind daily on what to do. I still dont know what to do about my cervix; my problem is bleeding and mini periods freak me out; and now I hear through a friend that my dr has had some past issues with leaving her patients with infection. We all seem to be feeling much of the same; thank you to everyone for sharing, as it feels good to hear others are on the same page.

I feel like a crazy woman
Oh girl I can totally relate. I call it my evil twin. I have every emotion on the planet. For every good emotion I have, my evil twin has the exact opposite one. Its insane! I had my pre-op Thursday and it became very real. I think Monday when I start the clear liquid nasty day and I go in for my blood work that morning, I may lose my mind completely. Its a lot to ask of a hormonally insane woman to deal with all of this stuff. And to top it off, I have PMS so bad. My gift should show up on Monday so as I'm dancing with my porcelin dance partner for bowel prep, I can just stay there thanks to aunt flo. Oh such fun. Atleast its the last one! I think I'll bring a book. Maybe I need to get a padded toilet seat. Hmmm.
Hang in there. It will be over soon and then life begins.
