Hysterectomy for fibroids

Evelyn,
Thanks for the advice. I am going for a second opinion to a doctor who is trained in laprascopic procedures. I don't think my doctor is. I didn't know there were specialists also.

Evelyn, so happy to hear....

your procedure went well! Were you sore afterwards, and if so, for how long? Do you feel "funny", like something is missing? I've put off my surgery until Sept (was previously scheduled for July) and I'm ok with the thought most days, but now I'm bummin' again

Jane1955: I hope everything goes well for you! Let us know how your appt goes!

Was I Sore?

"Sore" is exactly the word. I was really sore for a couple of days, but not more than Percoset or ibuprofin could handle. After a week, my pain level was less than before the surgery. I rested a lot the first couple of weeks. The speed of LSH recovery is amazing.

I don't really feel like anything is missing, but I do feel much lighter and more flexible. The pressure on my bladder is gone - that's wonderful.

Jane1955, Glad you're getting a second opinion. Let us know how it goes.

Thanks, Evelyn1!

TCL usually means "The Church Lady" but sometimes also means "The Chicken Lady." Fortunately I've never had a problem with anesthesia or narcotics, so I'm hoping that that's still the case in Sept. I feel so bad for the gals who do have problems-- like they need ONE MORE THING to deal with--NOT!

Good luck to you in your recovery!
