Re: Bladder issues after hysterectomy?

uti's are fairly common after surgery. bladder irritation is normal too. if you have continued discomfort, let your dr. know. you might benefit from vaginal estrogen.

Bladder issues after hysterectomy? 3 weeks post-op.

I’m actually experiencing weak bladder & dribbling urine symptoms. Reached out to Dr & I’m getting a urine test tomorrow for possible infection.

My surgery was on April 5, so it’s been 15 days. It’s the only discomfort I have right now, aside from the pangs and jolts and aches.

Bladder issues after hysterectomy? 3 weeks post-op.

I had an episode of sudden leakage at 2 weeks post-op, which I attributed to my bladder still adjusting to no longer having a grapefruit sized fibroid sitting on top of it; after that, my bladder easily settled into its new, roomier surroundings, and I had no further issues. If you're concerned about a UTI, then I recommend filling up on probiotics from yogurt, kefir, kombucha, unpasteurized sauerkraut, or a high-quality supplement, to restore the good bacteria inside your urinary tract, which may have been affected by antibiotics used in the surgery; drinking cranberry juice can help by preventing harmful bacteria from sticking to the walls of your urinary tract; also be sure to wipe from front to back after using the toilet, so you're not pushing fecal bacteria up your urethra. Best wishes for a healthy urinary tract, and for continued health and healing!
