New Super Power: Toxic Toots!

I’m mostly just trying to make you ladies laugh! But the post-op period has been rather filled with gas—a toxic miasma! I’m kidding but also NOT! It’s stinky fart city here!

Re: New Super Power: Toxic Toots!

It sounds like you have the same super power as me! It comes from the foods we eat; specifically, onions, garlic, and cruciferous vegetables are filled with sulfurous compounds, which bacteria in the colon break down into hydrogen sulfide, producing that lovely "eau de rotten egg" aroma. Regular walks and peppermint tea can help your body to expel the gas. Thanks for the laugh, and best wishes for your continued recovery!

Re: New Super Power: Toxic Toots!

Five days post op And you right. The gas is real.. I’m so happy when it passes i make an announcement everytime.. recovery is more maneuverable without the gas. I swear the gas hurt more than the surgery. It took me a few days to figure it out but I realized once I moved the gas everything else came together

Re: New Super Power: Toxic Toots!

I was sooo farty too! And for me, there was no obvious relationship between what I ate and how gassy I was. My intestines were mad at me for about 3 weeks and then they settled down.

NittanySparrow! Three weeks!? I’m taking gas-x at night now. Luckily it hasn’t been as painful/uncomfortable today.

Re: New Super Power: Toxic Toots!

Yep. My doc was not worried and encouraged me to fart away. While everything made me gassy no matter what i did, there was a bit of a relationship between what i ate and how bad it smelled. For me, the worst smells happened if i ate meat (any kind) or garlic.

Hopefully, your melodious nature will fade on its own, and soon

Re: New Super Power: Toxic Toots!

When I was in the hospital (three nights) the nurses were celebrating my gas movements so I am celebrating every one :-D
