lower left abdominal ache
Littlelefty,
You and I have chatted before (how is that chocolate craving! LOL) and I too have the same pain. During my last exam in July I told my doctor about it and he was able to recreate it when he pushed on the lower left side of my abdomen but he never gave me an answer as to what he thought was causing the problem. I am thinking it is caused either by a fibroid or my enlarged uterus pressing on my left ovary. My pain was more of a constant dull ache that sometimes caused a pain to radiate down to my left thigh. I had not heard of the other possibilities mentioned by the other ladies so I hope I don't have something else to contend with and that my surgery fixes all the aches and pains.
Good luck and I hope you get some relief soon.

lower left abdominal ache
Hello Princesses-in-waiting!
Today is my 3-month Hysterversary! Can't say that it's been great post-op experience, however. I have had this constant lower left side pain since the beginning of this year (had endo, adhesions, adeno, cysts for years). We thought that having the surgery would take care of this pain along with all my other problems. The pain has never left. We are now trying to withhold estrogen replacement therapy to see if maybe it's some endo that hasn't died off yet. Could be adhesions pulling though. If no estrogen doesn't work in a couple months, I am going to have a GI workup, however, I don't have any other GI symptoms (fever, etc.). In addition, on Monday a.m. I tore my vaginal cuff (the most intensely severe pain I have ever experienced!) and wound up in the ER only to have them send me home with pain meds to try and heal on my own. This watch it for a while stuff is crap. We shouldn't have to live with this kind of pain because they don't know what's causing it and there are a lot of us out there... why don't they know if we all have the same symptoms?! You are right, if it were a male issue, there would be an answer and cure! Sorry, I'm just exhausted from dealing with all the pain. Good luck with your search for answers... please let us know if you find any. Maria

lower left abdominal ache
Hi Ladies!
Pearle...I've had a couple of colonoscopys, they said might be colitis, but not sure. I've never had a true diagnosis for the reason I have this pain. I work in an ER, and I know left sided pain is often colon related, they just don't know for sure in my case. As for ovulation, the pain comes at all different times of the month. As of today I've had the pain for 4 days straight. You still could be right about either one of these...time will tell.
gulfgrl, glad your surgery is coming up soon, & I hope you get relief. Guess we are not alone in these troubles.
hdprincess, had chocolate dessert at my friend's home last night, thankyou! Keep in touch, I'm interested in how things go with your hyst!
witchria, hope you get some answers. I'll pray for quick healing for you. Yes, sometimes "women's problems" get poopoo'd. Don't give up...we need to keep talking about it.
Thanks again princesses and future princesses! LL

lower left abdominal ache
Had to call my gyn, the pain has gotten worse. She called in a pain med, and my DH is going to pick them up for me soon. Dr. thinks it's the fibroids. I'm more & more happy that my hyst is not very far away.
Thanks for your support, LL
