TSH BSO history of hpv

Lynnster,
Sorry I was having some issues replying
To your post. In my case I first had hpv on cervix, had leep. 2nd time I had it in my vagina VAIN 2. Had that lasered. 3rd time had VAIN 2 again, had that lasered. 4th time same thing. They did hysterectomy thinking the cervix was the source of all this. I didn't have hysterectomy before because it wouldn't do anything for VAIN. I have a check up to see if hpv is showing its ugly face again.. I pray not..it's been long, lonely and embarrassing journey.. long answer to a short question, but I think you should check it out at least to give you peace .

Re: TSH BSO history of hpv

Yes you should. I as well had always tested positive for HPV. I have not since my hysterectomy 9/4/19, but my gyno did tell me that I should continue with my paps. I had cervical cancer from the HPV. She stated that it still could spread to other areas, so it is best to continue incase the HPV were to show up again. Be your own advocate! It is better to stay on top of this and things could be found early and way more treatable! Best of luck to you!

Re: TSH BSO history of hpv

I had a hysterectomy in August due to high risk HPV. I was instructed by my gynecologist to return every 6mos for the two years, and annually thereafter. The infection can re-emerge apparently, and can effect areas still remaining post-op (vulva, vagina, etc.). Also, she recommended my getting a Gardisil vaccination. It is now FDA approved up to age 47. According to my gynecologist, there is some preliminary research (not conclusive yet) that the vaccine might help the body keep an active infection at bay. It's good to get vaccinated either way, however. I had my partner do it as well even though he is negative (at the time of his exam).

I got the gardisil vaccination (3 part series) and I'm 50..and hpv came back. I also was instructed to take a certain supplement from a specialist...that didn't work either and didn't dare have sex for two years.. that virus can be a expensive and emotionally exhausting...I pray that after surgery it's gone.. not sure what happens if I get it again...I have nothing left in there.
