You know how if you cut your hand and it leaves a scar, or if you ever needed stitches, the spot where the stitches is, is never quite the same. Well, that is what scar tissue and adhesions are, only on the inside. Every time someone has surgery, it leaves scar tissue on the inside from the stitches because the dr. has to stitch up each layer of skin. There are many layers of skin for a dr. to stitch up when they close you up from surgery. I hope this helps. Adhesions are basically the same thing.

What are adhesions?

As I understand it, adhesions are scar tissue that cause organs within the body to adhere to other organs that are not normally connected.

After my tah/bso I found out that I had uterine tumors that had connected to my bladder in a small area. It did make my surgery a little longer. I've not had problems since then
