Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I saw my gynocologist a few weeks ago, I have to go back on June 10th which is when I will get a date for my surgery, TAH, from what she told me.

I know I need to do this but can't imagine being on the other side of it.

I have had 2 c-sections and they did an abdominal tubial, the last op was 10 years ago.

I'm scared is the only way to put it.

I also have had two c-sections and an abdominal tubal. I am now scheduled for a TAH June 23rd. I am both relieved and scared. I'm terrified of the surgery but relieved that this pain is going to be over soon. This website has been a lifesaver! I figure this will probably hurt like a c-section but afterwards we will be princesses!

Up untill last Sept I had never had surgry. I had a lap. in Sept. and the hysterectomy in April. I was scared! Al went well and I'm on my fast road to recovery! Good luck and keep your chin up!

My doctor has told me that recovery from the TAH will be similar to what I experienced recovering from a C-section. Of course, that was 18 years ago!! But, my recollection is still pretty clear...I felt pretty good after a week or two. Certainly a little sore and not able to run a marathon, but all in all, not bad.

My sister had a TAH 2 years ago due to uterine cancer and she was out and about within two weeks (minor errands, etc). Biggest problem was the gas issue - no fun at all. But in terms of the surgery itself, and the pain from the incision, it was very manageable for her.

I know it's hard but try to think positive thoughts...believe in the power of positive thinking.

I had been told it was very similar to the previous surgery but that was a long time ago, and I know things get harder with age (am only 39)

This site has been a god send, even have my DH reading it.

Your story sounds like mine. I'm having a TAH in June after 2 csections with a tubal during the last one. I also had an incisional hernia repair 6 months after the last csection. This is a great place for advice and information.
