Kinda nervous what to expect from a hysterectomy - lavh
yeah I didn't really want to to have the bladder repair done but doc insisted it needed to be done. Worried about the recovery time for it. But being intimate with my husband had been affected by it too so I might as well have it done. Do you know how big your dermoid is. Mine is about 3 cm now. So won't have to lose my ovary.

No, I didn't have any bladder work done. I did have issues pre op (leakage, not being able to empty completely without pushing on my stomach, etc) but it went away post op.

Re: Kinda nervous what to expect from an lavh
My dermoid was 7cm a month ago. I don't know if it's growing or if I'm just aware of it, but it makes me uncomfortable. I discovered it because of severe pain when I ovulated on that side. They did an ultrasound and there it was! How did you know you had one?
From what I understand the bladder work pain goes away fairly soon. Just be patient with yourself and don't lift anything! I hear drugs are nice.

Found out I had a dermoid when I was experiencing nausea lower back pain and abdominal pain as well. I went right to the hospital. First they treated me like a drug addict because I was in so much pain they did an ultrasound finally and discovered I had a cyst rupture and what looked like a dermoid. They later appoligize for treating me like they did an recommended I go to my gynecologist asap. My doctor already gave me my pain meds for afterwards gave 800 mg motrin an 30 norcos. I think he wanted me to have them because I'm having multiple things done and shouldn't go anywhere after plus I think he knows how much pain I'm in now. I hope everything goes well with this surgery and I bounce back easy. It's good to know I'm not alone.

Re: Kinda nervous what to expect from an lavh
I had the robotic hysterectomy 9/2/14. I was released from the hospital the next day. They took everything but my ovaries. So far I'm doing ok. I manage the pain with ibuprofen 800mg. I do have a lot of gas which my DR. did say I will have. I'm also on stool softeners twice a day. I drink prune juice to help as we'll. I still haven't had a bowel movement yet so that's got me a little worried. I have been resting resting resting. I get up and walk around the house so that I'm not just laying down. I'm just taking it one day at a time. I pray all goes well with your surgery.

I really hope you start to feel better soon. Try to drink some warm tea in the morning having stuff warm in the bell always helps thing wake up and start moving. Peppermint tea is wonderful. Or some warm prune juice could do the trick. Thank you for sharing your experience with me and I hope mine goes well also.
