a week to go - getting scared

Well, there is only one more week until I become a princess. Getting very nervous. I am finding it hard to concentrate on anything but the fact that surgery is coming up. Honestly right now all I feel like doing is curling up in my boyfriend's arms and staying there until I have to go into surgery. I know that being nervous before the surgery is normal, but is it normal to want to stop doing everything? I have very little patience anymore, I get upset with my son a lot easier lately and that is not fair to him. I feel like I really am losing it. I feel like crying all of the time. I know the surgery is for the best and that it will make me feel better physically, but what about emotionally? How have you all dealt with the emotional aspect of this? Can anyone give me some advice as to how to fight feeling "lost"? Sometimes I feel like people think I am exaggerating how I feel, but I feel like I am understating it because no seems to be understanding my point of view. Thanks for listening to me ramble on like a crazy woman.

Snookb,

I am glad you are doing well. I do think it is the waiting that is making this even harder. I have known since the beginning of December that I was having it done.

I feel like I am sometimes being really selfish because I don't ever want to be alone. I always want someone there, especially my boyfriend. If I am alone too much I start thinking about the surgery and the recovery and wondering how things will be different afterwards.

I am supposed to get to keep both of my ovaries but that is where some of my pain is, so I keep worrying that once they get inside they will find out that one or both of them will have to come out. That scares me a lot. I am only 24 and do not want to unexpectedly go into instant menopause. And that may be something I have no control over. Thanks for listening.

a week to go - getting scared

Hi Charity,

I know exactly how you feel. Yesterday I was good with it all, was actually looking forward to it. Now today I'm flipping out again. Trying to clear things up at work but can't concentrate. Find myself wandering back here. Can't control thinking about all the "what if's". This waiting is agonizing.

2 WEEKS TO GO

Hi, I now it exactly how you feel. I am ready to have the surgery lapo/vag Feb. 6th. but emotionally I'm a basket case. It's just too much time to think about it. I like having the time to prepare but my nerves are on edge. I have 2 kids and my son seems to know when to push those buttons. I just keep trying to tell myself that I doing it for them and myself. Good luck!!!!!!!! Tam
