Dear, dear sisters...
Every day, I love to wake to your posts. Good or difficult, they charge me with the strength to go on and teach me lessons in perserverence. Wow, I never thought a support group could be so powerful! Mew68, your prayer made me cry (in a really GOOD way!). And all of you cooks, you inspire me to keep chopping (gently)(as cooking is my therapy as well). For all of those that are feeling a few steps back and all swelly belly, we are all here for you and are sending pure white healing energy in your direction.. keep your chins up... there is restorative power in positive thought.
As they say in yoga... Close your eyes and look within. Compete not with the being by your side. Where you are in this moment is where you are supposed to be. We are all individuals as diverse as the stars. Release yourself from the binds of expectation. Be in the present and feel it for the present is what is real.

Hey Dans-wife and Mew68 where are you located? We are hailing from all around! How exciting!!!

17 Days Post Op

Hi everyone! I am so enjoying reading everyone's progress on this thread, and I'm happy to see everyone progressing nicely! It's good that we're all listening to our bodies and getting the rest and recovery that we need before we get totally get back into the swing of things.

It's 17 days post-op for me today. This afternoon, I'll be attending my son's Superstar Student award ceremony at his elementary school. This is his 3rd award since he's started school, and it amazes me that he is doing so well! Since I have the car today, I'm thinking about picking up a Starbucks and a couple of knick-knacks at the local CVS store.

Before this all started, I had the crazy notion that each day I'll get better and better and that my energy levels would be back to par in no time...boy, was I wrong! I spend most of my days kicking back, watching tv on my new HDTV. I've been walking mostly around the house, and doing little chores (wiping down counters, picking up socks, etc.), nothing too strenuous. I've been out now maybe 5 times - on Monday, I escorted my husband to Frye's Electronics because he wanted to use his gift card that he got for Christmas. I ended up getting the Daughtry CD and NOW! Music 26, while he picked up a couple of coaxial cables and connectors. We had a nice lunch at a Chinese place - and I ran into someone who I used to sing with in their church choir! She asked how I was doing, and told me that everyone at the church was praying for me! I really warmed my heart to know that people are thinking and praying for me!

Once again mew68, thank you for the beautiful prayer! I join my prayers for my fellow sisters with yours in the hopes that our Lord continues to grant us peace, rest, and healing!

Keep up the good work, sisters!

Cynthia (Dan's Wife) - you are simply amazing. you're so ahead of the recuperation curve !

Liilaa - I liked the yoga exercise thought.

Marta (mew68) - your prayers are so very beautiful, you really have a way with words. Thank you for the prayer. I went back and read it out loud for all of us, with beautiful tears in my eyes.

My swelly belly is like a ROCK lately .... or rather, its a rock with sunburn LOL. I'm taking the sunburn feeling as a good sign that the nerves are coming back to life. I can't seem to find the upside to my rock hard sensitive swelly belly -- maybe its the darkness before the dawn and its last horrah before it leaves me (hey, one can dream, no ?).

DH is still cooking all the dinners, so I think I'll just have him continue to do that for awhile longer (awwwwwwww, poor DH ..... let the pampering continue ! He's definitely much more appreciative of all the little, less obvious, things I do around the house since he's had to pick up all that for me.

During the day I "eat" Boost or Ensure, and have a few saltine crackers with a poached egg. As you can see, I'm not exerting myself

Hope everyone has a great day.

Hello everyone!
I am just at my two week mark and have a question. My surgery went well. I went in for suspected adeno and one thing she found was my right tube wrapped around my ovary. My incision looks great (almost healed) and I just removed my steri strips yesterday.
My question is this:
I have been trying to take it easy. I have a three year old and my husband works out of town so I am staying with my sister. I have been doing very minimal lifting and probably a fair bit of bending but have been trying to take it easy. I still have pain inside - is this normal? It is not bad pain just more like I want to go inside and rip something out.
I just want to make sure I'm on the right road to recovery. This morning was the first day it didn't hurt to pee which was great. I'm just curious about where the pain level (if we should have any).
Thanks for you help!

hi again all.
well, i have been encouraged this morning reading all your post. this is horrible and i am sorry, but it encouraged me to see that others are where i am. today i cried because i thought i would be so much further along that i am. i have told you all before that i am a "go go go" person so its been hard for me to take it slow. well, i was talking to my husband and all of a sudden the tears came because i haven't been over doing it and have been behaving myself and i just feel like i haven't progressed as much as i should have. but, God reassured me that i need to take it one day at a time and that I am on His schedule for healing. I read all your posts and it encouraged me. My sister (who lives 45 minutes from me) is on her way to my house with several meals for us and a visit. she has been great!
as has been the rest of my family. my dh has been wonderful. he just let me cry this morning and held me and told me it was okay. he is wonderful.
anyway, thanks for the wondeful support and well wishes. all your encouraging thoughts and prayers get me through the day.

Mew68...perhaps what you are needing to be taught at this critical time is patience? I know it is very hard for me to learn patience and that is what I am being taught...Whatever my accomplishment is for each day, I do it first thing in the morning so I'm rested and ready..then I relax the remainder of the day..look for small wins in the day and journal them..that is what I am doing and I am very greatful for those small wins...making a cup of tea, finishing a book, enjoying conversation with a good friend...

Listen to your body and when it is able it will respond...

Hugs & prayers.

Mew68 - I can SO relate to your post! I'm also a "go-go-go" person, and this downtime has really made me a bit depressed. I, too, cry for no good reason. I found that when the weather has been OK enough, it helps me to go outside with my MP3 player and just sit out there and let the wind and sun hit my face. It really helps to recharge me a bit. Hang in there...we WILL get better before too long.

I haven't posted here since about page 5 or so so I apologize for not checking in on you all.

I had my first post-op appointment on Tuesday, and everything looked well. My pathology report came back free and clear of bad cells, so I'm very glad about that. I had a really bad day yesterday (with sitting still) and completely overdid it. I'm paying DEARLY for it today. When will I ever learn??

Anyone else experiencing sore leg muscles or anything like that? It feels like I've been working out for days straight - it's just my calf muscles. Strange.

Otherwise, all is well in this princess household....except that my MIL is here "helping." I'm ready for her to go home now.

Take care, princesses!! I'm thinking of you all!

thanks ladies for the encouragement. i am going to focus on the little wins from now on. i just washed a few dishes while my wonderful sister is making me homemade salsa (better than restaurant!!!) and cheese enchiladas with spanish rice. yum. anyway, that is the extent of my exercise today!!! i did walk outside for a few minutes today when my dh was leaving for work. i am feeling better emotionally.
thanks again everyone
also, i have a question: is anyone experiencing this: my belly is very swelly the last couple of days but not hard like it has been before. but it is very tender in the front of it. when you look at it, you can actually see an extra little pouch and that is the part that is very tender. anyone else with this. i have no fever and my incision (which is beneath this part) looks great. no infection but i am wondering if something is going on in the inside that i should be concerned about. its very very tender to the touch. would appreciate any feedback here.
thanks
