Mass on Overies

Just had a Hysterectomy, with removal of both Ovaries, Uteries and I guess from what the Pre- Op Nurse said, they would be removing the Cervix and they rebuilt it with muscle from somewhere...
I too was told I had a Mass on my Right Ovarie...To tell the truth I have not even thought it was Cancer...I started having a Period every two weeks ..for two years now..seen a Dr. and he said since I was in my Forties ..it was Menopause!!! Well..I believed him..until this Feb. I started to Pass out from Loss of too much Blood..Actually went for 68 days straight ..Seen the Specialist ...and had a DNC done right away..and was told I had to have a complete Husterectomy..
I do not see him again till July 25..for the results and a check up..
after reading this ..I'm a little scared... I'm sure by now, 2 weeks later they would have the results back and if it was anything more than just a mass , I would have been informed...???
What do you think ???..and even if there was something , when they removed everything isn't is gone now...

Mass on ovaries

Hi, Jen and welcome. I'm so sorry to hear that you're still so in the dark about the results of the surgery. Did you even see the doctor post-op in the hospital? In my case, it was right after the operation that both my gyn and later on, my gyn oncologist, confirmed that they found cancer in the organs removed with the hysterectomy. In addition, I was called at home by my gyn oncologist several days after the surgery to review the formal pathology reports. That's when I was directed to contact both a medical and radiation oncologist for further chemo and radiation therapy.

Rather than wait until 7/25, I would suggest putting in a call to your surgeon to review the results of the hysterectomy and to specifically ask if any cancer was found. You deserve to put your mind at ease sooner rather than later.

Good luck and God bless.

I second Maureenie's advice. You have the right to more information regarding your surgery. And you should not have to wait over a month for that info.
Please let us know how you make out.
