Lymph nodes (sp?)

Hi ladies,
I am going in next week, for TAH/BSO due to Complex Hyperplaysia with atypia. The Dr. is going to do a Vertical cut due to possibly having to take the nodes. I am looking for information and location of the nodes. Can someone point me in the right direction?

on more question, how do I get the smiley's on here?

Lymph nodes (sp?)

Hi there and welcome!

I just had my hyst with nodes removed on 11/4 with a bikini cut. I'm not sure what you're looking for but they took 6 nodes from me just to make sure the cancer hadn't spread. They kept saying lymph node disection - that made me sound like a frog!! I will keep you in my thoughts that all goes well!

PS: I think I clicked on enhanced mode or unclicked the "disable smilies in this post" box to get the smilies. Took me forever too! I was just clicking things and there they were

lymph node question?

Does the doctor automatically remove lymph nodes during TAH/BSO?

I had a TAH/BSO 2 1/2 weeks ago, at my one week check up doctor said that cancer was found in my cervix. I don't know if he removed lymph nodes or not and was too shocked and not prepared for him to tell me that I had cancer to ask any questions. I go back to doctor in a week and will ask but until then I was wondering if anybody knew if lymph node removal is automatic or not. If he didn't remove any lymph nodes for pathology to test, I don't feel like I can be assured that all the cancer was removed during surgery.

Lymph nodes are not automatically removed, and if they didn't go to pathology, then they didn't come out.

Some docs, feel around for them and if they look and feel normal. leave them alone.

I had mine sampled as they say with a horizontal incision, however it is more like a smiley face than the c-sec bikini cut
