I just had to share this!

I just had to share this with you guys --

My first anniversary of being diagnosed with ovarian cancer was this past weekend. Last year when I was in the hospital after I was diagnosed, I was crying and crying and saying stuff like "I'm going to die, etc. etc." The doctor said to me, "Do you know who Lance Armstrong (the bicyclist) is?" (He is the biker who had testicular, brain, and lung cancer who has won the Tour de France race). Well, anyway, I told him I knew who he was and he said to me, "Never forget about him." Well, you probably know that he just won the Tour de France this weekend for the third time in a row! I also walked in the Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society this weekend. I don't mean to sound sappy, but I really believe that there are no coincidences in this world -- all coincidences are messages from God. I think that God was trying to send me a message this weekend that things are going to be okay. (I'm kind of choked up as I write this.) Also, my antidepressant seemed to 'kick in' this past weekend, so I'm feeling better in that regard also.

I just wanted to share this with you wonderful ladies and wanted to let you know that I'm feeling better. Don't give up hope...

Love,

Cyndy

Cyndy, so happy that you are feeling better. Sometimes when we have a life threatening illness , we can become so caught up in the negatives that we often forget about all the people who do go on and make it. And you know what Cyndy..... we girls here are proof that it can be done. Much love to you always x x

Hugs Cyndy!!

What a great post!! There is a thread on the Sisteritaville Fitness Board as well about this wonderful man. He is a true survivor in the biggest sense of the word for sure!!

Congrats on walking in the Relay for Life. I am sure that made you feel very good to do that!!

I am very much a believer that everything happens for a reason, and we go through what we go through for reasons unknown to us at the time. However we come through forever changed and much stronger .

So glad to hear the new meds kicked in for you as well Cyndy!!
Continued excellent heath to you!!
Love and Hugs!!
Maria xoxo

Hi Cyndy
I am so glad to hear you are feeling better. And I agree, that Lance
Armstrong is really something. If he can do it, with cancer in so many
places, we can do it too!!!!! oxoxoxkarenann

Isn't it a wonderful thing when we finally realize it in our hearts that God has a reason for everything that happens to us? It may not always make sense at first, but eventually we see that it has helped us in some way...making us better people within.
Don't ever feel like you are sappy coming here...we all get silly, sappy, and sick! I'm glad that you are seeing things in a positive way!!

Thanks so much for sharing this. How wonderful it must have been for you to be participating in the walk on the same weekend.

I had been wanting to do the one here in Colorado and unfortunately they had it on the 4th of July, and as my assistant had to be off due to day care, I had no coverage and had to work! I know they had a walk specifically for ovarian here last year (I couldn't participate as it was too soon after my surgery) and I've been searching for info for months about it this year and haven't seen a thing! Makes me so sad that the walks for all types of cancer don't get more media coverage.

Anyway, about Lance Armstrong, he is so inspirational! I know he spends alot of time here in Colorado when training up in our mountains. I think it just proves how more advanced and much more successful treatments are getting these days.

Makes ya just want to smile, doesn't it!

My prayers go out to you all but if you don't mind me asking what were some of your symptoms. I have have ovarian problems one has a dermoid cyst. I hear that they are benign and I have an enlarged ovary that has given me most of my pain. I don't have much of an appetite and when I do eat small portions I feel so full and bloated. I would appreciate any respond to educate me
