Tomorrow's the day

I'm finding that now that I'm ready to go for TAH (everything out but the playpen),its hard to think of being laid up for any amount of time. I'm used to working 40hrs./wk in a busy and energetic job. I'm a CNA in a medical care facility, working in the restorative dept. I help the lame to learn how to walk and the halt to speak.
Becoming the one who needs the care, instead of the caregiver, scares me.
I want this operation. Two and a half month periods, heavy and clotting. No measurable testosterone or estrogen in blood tests.Ovarian cysts for 25 years. For the piece de resistance, fibroid tumors growing like cauliflower and totally reshaping my uterus. It's time for this to end.
I have a DH, caring mother in law, and grown up daughter to help. Even my mom is coming from out of town.
I think the advice I need is how to be a good patient.

Concentrate on your recovery and healing...we only have one chance to heal, so we have to make the best of it Rest, take short walks <to keep the blood flow circulating to help reduce the risks of Blood clots> keep hydrated, take your pain meds before the pain has a chance to take over, rest some more and allow yourself lots of PAMPERING
If you havent already, check out the Pre & Post-Op articles that are located under the *more HysterSisters* pull-down menu above. There is some awesome insight/advice from the thousands of other Princesses that have already been there.
They share helpful tips & things they wish they *would've* known beforehand...

I'll be sending lots of good thots your way & prayers that all goes well....
We'll be anxiously awaiting that *I'm home* post...see you on the other-side

(((((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))))
