T-Minus 12 Days 18 Hours and 13 minutes until uterus separation!

So, I had my pre-op, today, and not only did it go better than I could have imagined, it also made me excited (less nervous and more bouncy) for my surgery!
  • I don't have to have a bowel prep, or even any kind of special diet before the surgery! Just stop eating at midnight and I'm good to go!
  • I get the horizontal incision I was hoping for, rather than the vertical one I kinda didn't want!
  • The BIG one; my insurance approved the surgery as necessary and they're paying 100% since I've already met my deductible this year!
It seriously couldn't have made me happier! I know I'll likely get nervous and jumpy closer to the day of, but, for right now, I'm feelin' fab!

I am glad your pre-op went well.

Yes, your emotions may intensify as your surgery date approaches. This is normal. The emotional side of you and the logical side of you will process this at different rates, and depending on the day one part of yourself may be more dominant than the other. That is okay. We are here for you to help support you. We will be by your side throughout this.

Re: T-Minus 12 Days 18 Hours and 13 minutes until uterus separation!

I'm glad your pre-op went well. Mine did too, especially when my pre-op nurse told me that she had the surgery done 20 years ago and the best part was buying white pants! I'm not a shopper by heart, but I am now very happy to say I sport white pants/shorts whenever possible Please stay positive and remember that the waiting is the worst part of this whole experience. God bless!

Re: T-Minus 12 Days 18 Hours and 13 minutes until uterus separation!

Thank you, both, I appreciate your replies!

At this point, I'm trying to concentrate on other things so I'm not focusing on the waiting; getting things ready for my leave at work, cleaning the house, shopping, etc. I seem to do fine until late at night and then I can't help thinking about it (sometimes nervous or freaked out and other times just wishing it were the next day so I could start feeling better sooner)!

I'm very glad I have so many other people to talk about this with that won't judge or get tired of hearing it. Bless you all!
