I see a light at the end of a LONG tunnel

I have been having touble since I had my tubal in 1999. I have had a pain in my lower left side since the tubal ( 6 years!). I have had a lap& histrocope, a colonoscopy & a upper GI, it showed NOTHING there. I did not have this pain BEFORE the tubal. Also I started having HORRIBLE periods after the tubal. Periods like I have never had. I was ALWAYS right as rain. My Dr & I then discovered had PMDD & had to go on Prozac. She also put me on birth control pills to regulate the HEAVY periods. Well after about 2 years the Prozac quit working & she switched me to Zoloft. I have been on it for 3 or 4 years ( I cannot remember). I had another lap, d&c & histriscope, in 2003 to stop another bleeding episode I had (27 days). My (then) Dr. would not even discuss a hysterectomy, ever. She got miffed at me in '03 when I had to have the d & c, because "I let it go on too long." (LIKE I COULD HELP IT!!) Then last May my Dr.'s office mgr & I had a falling out & my Dr. dropped me as paitent. I went 3 months (Aug., Sept., Nov.) with out a period. I started on Dec 20th. I have had 3 periods since then. Last Sunday I stood up & gushed. I wasn't even on my period. So on Tues. I went to the ER ( not having a Dr. of my own) & they said that it was menstral blood & sent me to a GYN the next day. THANK GOODNESS! This lady was RIGHT ON THE MONEY! I described my history & she did an exam. She said there was no reason NOT to do a hysterectomy. I had a ultrasound on Fri. & am now waiting until my next appt. on the 17th to see if I have to have it vag. or through my abdomen. I am just so HAPPY to have someone (the Dr) not treat me like I was CRAZY! I am still bleeding & it is still BAD. I feel weak. But I have HOPE now. So that is more than I had before. Any suggestions & prayers are welcome! Thanks

I see a light at the end of a LONG tunnel

I feel for you girl !! I never had a tubal..But, my period comes when it wants to and stays as long as it wants, after I had my son 17 months ago, the 1st period I had lasted 25 days, I also had a D&C, and my cycles are just nuts, and the pain is something I know i could live without. My Dr. did an Ultra sound and found that I have adenomyosis, and a Hyster is what we decided on, I am having a Vaginal Hysterectomy in 2 weeks and I look forward to being period free..Good luck to you, and I am sure any questions you have these awesome ladies can help you out.

I feel so much better since my hyst. My energy level is high, I can walk for hours now. Before surgery I was weak and tired all the time. I bled all the time. It was the best thing I ever did. I wish you the same results. Good luck!
