Re: Did ya ever...

Daydream,

I would look, so I could get a feeling of what I could expect. I agree with Fritzi and stick with the recovery threads. Most of the recovery threads are encouraging. Not nearly as scary as some of the posts can seem.

I'm 10 post-op and doing really well. I almost feel guilty posting stuff because there are women still taking the pain meds, and I don't need to. I think for every posting thats scary, there are at least 2 women that are doing well.

Hope this helps some.

Thanks for posting a positive note. I hope you are right about the postings being more for those needing support for slow recoveries.

Thanks for this post too. I've had 3 C-sections & a myomectomy and requested Tylenol or Advil for pain rather than the morphine pump which made me feel awful. I also learned after surgery #2 that the sooner I'm back up on my feet the better I'll feel. I had to fight with some nurses over that request. After C-sec #2 they had me up walking 8 hours later which I thought was crazy initially but proved to be the best thing.

Re: Did ya ever...

Daydream,
I must admit that I have occasionally peeked at the post-op threads, to get an idea of what to expect. But from now on I think I'm just going to stick to the pre-op forum and read the hysterectomy stories. I have my surgery next month, and already my mind is working overtime. The more I think about what COULD happen...the more anxious and petrified I become! I definitely do not want to view any of the videos...my nerves are already frazzled as it is. I do not want to have nightmares!
