Vaginal hysterectomy and catheter?

I still have my catheter! They nicked my bladder and then had to repair that and then a few days later repair a ureter to one of my kidneys. My cath won't be coming ou t til the 31st!! There is some discomfort but no pain. It is mostly the inconvenience of it all! But, I'll tell ya; it sure is nice to not have to get up to go pee when you're feeling miserable.

Vaginal hysterectomy and catheter?

Hi. What were you having done that they managed to nick your bladder? That is ONE of my worries about the surgery my gynaecologist wants to do to me. I don't want to worry you, but I know of a girl whose waterworks were completely <Oops! Don't override the website censor! >up by a gynae op.
Take care of you!

Vaginal hysterectomy and catheter?

I am having tvh and have been told that I will have a cath, they have already told me it comes out at 6am next day. At least I can have one whole night in bed without having to get out to pee.

Vaginal hysterectomy and catheter?

BovineBelleFemm,

I had a TAH, kept my ovaries. My bladder was adhered to my uterus, so was injured when she tried to separate them. The Urologist repaired my bladder then, but didn't see that my ureter had also been damaged. It was a few days later that I had flank pain etc. and they did an ultrasound and found the injury. I then had a stent put in the ureter. I got my catheter out on the 31st and will get the stent out on the 20th of Feb. YAHOO! Otherwise, I am very pleased with my results. My outlook is; these things happen. Take care and good luck.

Hi thanx for explaining.
Why was your bladder adhered to your uterus and vice versa? Have you had previous operations eg appendix out or something?
Take care of you.
