Re: Upcoming hysterectomy: What did you do to entertain your brain while you recovered?
I was out of bed walking the day of my surgery. My dr told me that there was no need to lie/sit around,I should walk a lot and could be out and about as long as ifollowed my restrictions. I planned a lot of little outings to keep myself busy. I didn't stay on the couch or in bed except at night. I was so worried about boredom, but it wasn't a big issue, as I was pretty active, also I went back to work at 3 weeks. It may not be as bad as you think, I was pleasantly surprised.

I am 4 weeks post TAH. I have done some reading, watched some movies, Played some games on computer, But the thing I enjoyed the most was I went to wal-mart before surgery and found some adult coloring books and markers. kept my mind and hands busy.

At first you won't be able to do a lot because of the meds. I watched movies, took some online classes, read magazines/books, set goals for 2016, chatted with friends, learned how to shop online and worked on some projects. Take your time to rest and recover. That's the hard part-take the time...
