What to do??

Only 5 days left 'til surgery, im keeping myself busy at work, organised the house and even cleaned the oven! but i'm finding it really difficult to get to sleep.
Ive tried all the usual, warm bath; hot drinks; reading, but I just lay there hour after hour. I go into work soooo tired and looking like a zombie. Any suggestions?
Also, my DH is going back to work after 2 weeks and im a little unsure of what I can and can't do around the house. I suppose it all depends on the surgery and healing times etc. but I could do with a few guidelines.
Can anyone giveme some ideas?

What to do??

I don't know what to tell you about the pre-op jitters. Mine started going away the closer I got - but mostly because I tried to think of every question I had and once they were answered, I really just relaxed.

As for how much you can do ...

I'm coming up on two weeks on Thursday and I'm much more mobile than I thought. I have a housecleaner come in once a week to take care of the bathrooms, mop the floors and do the bedlinens and towels. Other than that, I'm able to wash a few dishes, make my own microwave food. Make coffee. Make tea. I sorted laundry over the weekend and put it away when it was done.

I had a SAH with a bikini incision. I've been off all pain meds (just ibuprofen) since Sunday (except for that headache yesterday which I took some tylenol for).

I think the trick is allowing yourself to rest after doing whatever it is. Let your body tell you what you can and can't do. Getting organized helps too. My DSO works from home most of the time, but has gone off on full days of meetings and I've done fine even at only one week.

Everyone heals differently - I was in really good shape when I went in for surgery. But I think taking it really slow in the first week has helped a lot to get my strength back instead of doing too much too soon.

What to do??

I am having a rough time finding something to do with my 5 days as well. Well something other than stare at that big jug of stuff I am expected to drink the night before.

My kids go to school Thursday and I have plenty of new books to read. I have a friend who has all of the "Friends" dvd's so I am gonna borrow them and catch up on my fave show.

I dont know how you feel but the days seem to be dragging. I am suffering panic attacks, cant sleep and in general am a hag. I know my family is ready to trade me off. hehehehehe!

Good luck to you. I hope your 5 days is as peaceful as possible!
