Surgery in 21 days, started having palpitations

A few days ago I started having palpitations. After trying to eliminate everything that could be causing them, I finally decided to contact my PCP today. She will be working this weekend and wants me to come first thing in the morning for an EKG and other tests. UGH!
I have thyroid disease and my TSH is low right now, so I'm thinking it may be the cause.
I don't have any known heart issues and had thorough testing a year and a half ago when I had chest pain. Nothing heart related, it ended up being inflammation of the cartilage between my sternum and ribs - costochondritis.
My blood pressure is normal, too.
I really hope it's not anything that will postpone my surgery.

I went through months of heart palpatstions. Went through a ton of testing and nothing was found. If they do the ECG and things and there's no reason for the issue chances are they won't cancel your surgery. It could be a medication you are on or stress maybe?

Or like many of us you could be anemic, that can cause them. And anxiety for sure.

I have been having palps as well for almost two years, my pcp finally figured out I was severely anemic and having anxiety attacks. Being on iron for the last 9 months has helped, but I am eager to get my dvh in 40 days and get back to a normal life. I hope your Dr can figure out the cause of your palps and it doesn't cause a delay for you!
