What the heck????

I have not had a period in almost 3 years. I occasionally will have sort of spotting..but nothing close to a real period. I am scheduled for a TLH on August 22 and what arrives on Friday, but a true honest to goodness period (i guess that's what it is). I had to scrounge around to find some fh products! It basically stopped, but now I am having kind of a bloody discharge or spotting. What's going on? Should I call my doc? I am not in any (more) discomfort.

Also, my surgery isn't scheduled till 3, be there at 1...usually I have had to be in the hospital in the am, so no eating/drinking after midnight is no problem, but how do you go that long with no water/food in the daylight hours??? I will have a massive headache by 1.

What the heck????

Hi, I think that maybe you should call your dr and trell him/her about the bleeding. It doesn't sound right to me after 3 years to suddenly have a period. It 's better to be cautious and ask, IMHO.
About not eating or drinking all day - that's rough. Once when my DH was having afternoon surgery, his dr allowed clear beverages until 6 hours before surgery. Once again, call your dr, they all have different rules. It's very important to do exactly as your dr has ordered for you.
Best wishes.

What the heck????

I agree with Jean, if you have not had a period in 3 yrs and you started again it would be best to call your dr. It is better to be safe than sorry. It may be nothing to worry about but wouldn't you rather know that for sure than work yourself up into a lather over the what if's?

Good luck and let us know what happens.

What the heck????

Thanks. What I am really worried about is that they might say I don't need the hysterectomy! LOL

What the heck????

Texannie~

If they already told you that you need one I doubt very much that this bleeding will change that fact. That is probably all the more reason for you TO have one.

Give your a call in the a.m and let us know how it goes.

Hang in there, s & ers
