Climara Patch

I hope this is the correct board to ask this question on, but if not, please point me in the correct direction. I have looked through a lot of posts as well as Climara's acutual web site and can not find the answer to a rather silly question. While I like the Climara patch--seems to work well in all aspects including adhesion, about 24-48 hours after application I develop a dark outline around the patch. It seems like the patch shrinks and leaves a small ring of adhesive around it that collects lint or ??
Doesn't seem to matter what color undies are as I where beige or white. As the patchs are transparent, is sure looks funny. Anyone had the same problem/found a solution?
Thanks so much,
Carol

Climara Patch

The patches seem to collect lint from our undies and leave little dark sticky prints on the skin wherever the patch has been placed.

I've heard of using baby oil, or alcohol, or even olive oil on a Q-tip to remove the residue. I use olive oil on the Q-tip to remove the marks left behind after changing my vivelle dot.

Someone has mentioned that there is an actual product on the market that is made to remove this adhesive mark--but I don't recall the name of it. Hopefully, someone else will come along soon and let you know what it is called and where it can be purchased. Good luck!~Moonchime

I don't reccomend using goo gone. Good thought though. The rings are irratating. I just use soap and water. The other thing is swimmin. They always fall off after or while swimming. Insurance will only pay on a regular schedule. So I either go without a week or I stretch the other patches out for as long as I can. Good luck.

Climara Patch

I keep saying they should make the patch a black color so the ring won't show! lol
I have no other solution to the dark ring!

Climara Patch

Yep! Got the same problem here. My husband even said "too bad that dark ring is there...if it wasn't you would never know that you have the patch on" LOL. After removing my patch I was able to remove the ring with soap and water and some scrubing. But I HATE the dark ring around that patch! Drives me crazy!!!

Climara Patch

I was on Climara, but switched to Vivelle Dot. I had the ring problem with Climara, but the Vivelle Dot doesn't seem to leave that nasty lint ring. Climara didn't last through the whole week for me and the Vivelle Dot is changed twice weekly and seems to help me more.

Climara Patch

I use the Climara patch too. I love it in that I feel great, hormonally speaking. I get that nasty dark circle around the patch too. Also get that adhesive on my underwear. I remove the dark circle after I remove the patch with Mary Kay Oil-Free Makeup Remover. I have never tried removing the dark circle while the patch is on.

I posted a question on how to get rid of the adhesive on my panties. Goo gone was one answer. I haven't tried it yet.

Climara Patch

Thanks so much for everyones comments. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one who has the problem. I guess the ring is an "ok" trade-off since the patch seems to work well. I know the Climaras sure "stick" better for me than the generics did. I actually bought an extra box of them myself (insurance wouldn't cover the extras) to use when one of the others came off!! Oh well, at least I always know where the old one was when I'm putting the new one on!!
Thanks again,

Carol
