need info on pessary

I canceled my surg for Feb 20, and seen another Dr. He didnt recommend a pessary, because I am a very active 52 year old. I tried one with the previous Dr. It was to big and slid to the side and kept me from urinating. I have been doing the kegalmaster2000, it has helped but my I welcome cervix is trying to come out again, I just cant stand it. Has anyone used a pessary that really works for them, and thats really active. This is March and to have surg now, I would go crazy for 6 weeks, I do all the yard work, mow, and walk many miles a day etc. I think I am going back to the last Dr. and ask if he will fit me with a pessary till like Nov. I welcome any advice. Thanks

Pessary info

I saw my regular gyn in December - she thought I should have a vag. hyst. due to my prolapsed uterus. It does bother me occasionally - but not all the time. I read on this site about seeing a urogyn., which I did - liked her alot and she mentioned surgery being an option, but also trying a pessary first. I was just fitted yesterday, and have only worn it a little over 24 hrs. I can tell that it is in there...had no problems with the bathroom or it coming out. I hope it is the right fit. The real test will be my step aerobics class and stability ball next week. I am active too - 51 yrs young.

I'd at least try the pessary first - I looked at it - like...what have I got to lose. I'm not ready for a hyst., not sure I ever will be! I know this is not a permanent fix....but it will do until I at least decide!

i had a pessary last year. i have a prolapsed uterus -severe- and needed a vestibulectomy last february due to the pain and other vag issues. the hope was with a pessary and PT, i'd be surgery is scheduled for march 20th bc the pessary would stay put for a few days, then drop...and i realized at different times of the month, for me it was useless..and we tried several sizes. now it hangs soooo low, i'm not comfy at surgery, here i come.
