5 weeks post-op -- OUCH!

Good Morning -- NOT! Had my TVH on 9/3, recovery went fairly well other than low blood pressure and anemia. I managed to return to work last Monday after staying home for 4 weeks.

Well, Saturday DH and I attended a wedding -- 8 hour ordeal, but fun. Then yesterday I decided to make the summer to winter transition of clothes. Boxes stored under the bed, so some pulling and pushing, knelling, bending. Last night I was a bit sore, but this morning OUCH!

Pain in the lower ab and lower back and a few sharp pains from time to time, though no bleeding.

So, my quetion, should I be overly concerned and call the doctor, or just take the day off and rest? I am staying home this morning, but just not sure how serious this is.

I was feeling SOOO good, and now this... I could just cry!

Thanks in advance for listening.

what is your first feeling about calling the dr, if you say yes i should then do. you know the intensity and your body and that should be your guide. i am 6 weeks and i took 2 of my pekingese to the vet for shots. didnt think i had over done it but next day i was major sore, it did go away with advil and rest, but i know my body and that was what i needed to do. if you think you should call your dr, then i would, at least for his opinion of what you should do (did any of this make sence??))

you take it easy know and let us know how you are!!!!

Hi Sandi!

It sounds like you are doing too much, too soon. You should give your doctor a call and let them know about the pain you are having. You have had a major surgery. The initial recovery period is 6 - 8 weeks but it can take months to be completely healed. If you can take some more time off of work it would be a very good idea. Please try to slow down and give your body time to heal. We care about you!
