Bladder problems and resuming sex

Its been 13 weeks since my surgery and I have had sex 3 times in the last 5 weeks. I am very very tense and nervous about doing this. I guess I am just afraid that it will hurt. The last time was on the 12th week and it isn't real painful but deep inside there is a very uncomfortable "aching" feeling. It isn't pleasant at all. Will this go away? Is it still healing? I had a TAH with the horizontal cut. I have no other pains outside of it still kind of hurts to pee, but that is getting better. Will sex ever return to being comfortable? My husband is very gentle and very patient. I just want to be able to please him again. Thanks for your advice.

Bladder problems and resuming sex

Hi.

I also had a TAH back in November of '02. I found that I was very scared to have sex, not only because of the pain but because I had stitches up inside the vagina where they had taken my cervix out as well.

I was sore for a long time but now things are back to normal. Every now and then I get a pinch of discomfort but I believe that most of it is my bladder.

Take your time and just "practice" You will be fine. Promise.

Kim

God Bless and pray for our soldiers.

Bladder problems and resuming sex

Hi!

I do think it would be a good idea to give your doctor a call and let them know how you are feeling. Hope you continue to get better and better!

If you have pain when you pee, you could have a UTI.

Give them a call, it is a fast test and if you do have one, you can treat it and no longer suffer.

Last year, I had a UTI for about 4 months because I didn't have the normal symptoms for a UTI.

ALL I had was severe lower back pain for the first day or two, then it went into very sore lower ab. Oh, I had the erge to pee every hour.

By the time we tested for it, I had severe amounts of tissue shedding from the bladder. Not a pleasant site for sure.
So please get checked,

Patty
