6 months post lap supracervical hysterectomy and feeling better then ever

Hi all hystersisters! I just wanted to share my story as this is such a good website for us ladies worrying about the aftermath of a hysterectomy. Mines a really positive story. I'm 33yrs old so quite young to have gone through this, but I'm 6 months post op and I've never felt better. Don't get me wrong the day after my op it was very very painful and I was worried that it wouldn't get any easier, I couldn't even walk to the bathroom without help, but after day 4 I felt much better, I could even walk up and down the stairs. I know that May sound a bit daft but believe me the first few days was hard. Funny enough the belly pain was manageable ( I had laparoscopic sub hysterectomy) it was the trapped wind that hurt the most. It was bad!! I only took the extra medication for 4 days, didn't need anything after that. Then my recovery was pretty much plain sailing after that. I was allowed to drive after 4 weeks and I was back at work after 6 weeks. If I didn't have such a hectic job I'd have gone back sooner! Now I only have a very small bleed once a month and touch wood it only lasts a couple of days. Which is just perfect as before the op I was on constantly. I can honestly say I have my life back. I can't even tell that I've had such a major op, well apart from the tiny scars on my belly, but that's no issue at all. I know we all recover different, but I was positive throughout it all and I feel so positive now. It is a big thing for us to go through but at the end of it all we get our life back. So good luck to all you ladies who will be going through this. You'll be just fine
