I messed up my bowel prep as I prepare for hysterectomy tomorrow

Tomorrow is surgery. And today I'm doing the bowel cleanse. But instead if taking 2 dulcolax at 12, I did the Gatorade and miralax at 12. I was supposed to do dulcolax at 12, Gatorade at 2, then 2 more dulcolax at 4. Now what?!

First, don't panic. Second, call your doctor's office and explain what has happened. Your doctor can then try to figure out how to adjust the remainder of your bowel prep.

Now you poop a lot... as long as you get most of the bowels cleaned out you should be fine. My dr didn't even order a bowel prep, but I was so paranoid that since I hadn't pooped in a few days before, the night before surgery I drove to walmart at 3am & gave myself an enema... so glad I did because I was apparently constipated & atleast I didn't have to deal with that discomfort after...

my dr had me do 2 ducolax a noon and that was it... I was able to eat right up till midnight if I wanted to... but didn't. hope all goes well for you. after spending time reading many posts here ...there are so many different approaches to the bowel cleanse.... I guess it depends on the dr and the procedure. all the best.

My surgery is in 7 days . My doc did not order a colon cleanse at all. I'm very constipated a lot of the time so I'm trying to clean myself out anyway before surgery. I took two docualx and started miralax in my water once a day. I'm nervous and can't wait till it's over !!!

Well I survived! I'm in the hospital now. They are keeping me overnight. They also removed both of my ovaries. She said they didn't look good.

Pain is not too horrible, but bad enough for me to ask for pain meds. And I got to eat and the food here is really good lol. I can't wait to get out of bed later and walk a little. I get sore laying in bed. Thanks everyone for your good thoughts and prayers.
