It's Finally Scheduled!

Hi Everyone!!! Happy New Year!

I just wanted to re-introduce myself & warn you that you will be seeing many posts from me in the next few weeks! I have been putting off having this surgery for SOOOOOO LONG, but FINALLY (mentally), I'm ready!

I am scheduled for January 24th, 2011!

I believe I'm having a TAH? I know it will be done abdominally (my uterus is currently the size of a 16 week pregnancy). My Dr. & I both agree, it's just too large to attempt to remove vaginally. She is going to try to save my ovaries (one had a cyst removed, years ago, so we're unsure of their condition). One of my many issues is: adenomyosis ... so I don't know how crazy messy it is IN THERE?

I have a million questions. But, first, I will begin by searching through ALL of your wonderful posts. I know (from searching in the past) that you ALWAYS have the answers, before I even ask the questions!

I just wanted to say "I'm back!"

Thanks for your help (in advance)!
~ Tammy (Age: 44, Mom of Twins ~ Age: 19, Happily Married 26 Years)

Re: It's Finally Scheduled!

I just went thru a TAH on 9/30/10. Please, please take it very easy for at least the first 6-8 wks. Get all the support you need at home. Please let me know if you need any info now or later. Take care.

Re: It's Finally Scheduled!

I had my TAH 11/17/10 for endometriosos, fibroid cysts and adenomyosis. I put my surgery off for 3 years, but am SO glad to have finally gone through with it. I am now seven weeks post op and am feeling better than I have in a really long time!! Please feel free to hit me up if you have any questions - I would be happy to help, as my memories are still fresh=)

Re: It's Finally Scheduled!

THANK YOU BOTH!!!

Believe me, I am making lists (of questions that I have, and of what I need to bring to the hospital ~ THAT LIST I took from here & a list of what I'll need at home) ) & getting the house ready & the family ready. As soon as I have a chance, I will sit down & go through my list of hyster questions, and try to get them ALL answered HERE. I also ordered (what looks like) a really great hyster book from here (along with my tummy pillow, and swelly belly & belly binder)! I TOTALLY appreciate any/all help, and I will hit you both up SHORTLY!!!

Thanks again!
~ Tammy
