TVH: Pre-op today...this is really happening!!

Well hello everyone! I had my pre-op today. I had a whole list of questions and I expected to go in and have them all answered and my anxiety to be relieved. BUT the opposite happened. Not the fault of my doc but now all of a sudden, all of this, what they are doing and medical history stuff made it SO REAL. I cant help but think...THIS IS REALLY HAPPENING NEXT WEEK!! I think my nerves come from all my medical history which has PROVEN over the years that NOTHING goes as planned when it comes to my health or medical care.

Galstones turned into "we found 2 masses in your liver"
Appendix turrned into ICU with 60/30 blood pressure
Food poisoning turned into ICU with instestinal bleeding
the list goes on...

I just want something to be "text book". I just hope this is the one time that finally happens. I need a crystal ball!!

The pre-op does make things seem more real, and it is scary. :/ It may not be "text book", but you will be in very capable hands. I hope your surgery goes great, and your recovery is even better. Then maybe you can wrap up this list, and move on to something more enjoyable.

My surgery is the day after yours. I'm actually worried about the blood work I had done yesterday and hoping it all comes back good. That's the only thing that would stall my surgery. Good luck to you and I pray it all goes well and that your recovery is easy breezy!

Boise123 try to relax ... the best thing you can do is face it with a positive attitude! I have had multiple surgeries and each has presented challenges but staying calm and thinking positive will go a long way in helping you heal!
