Please tell me it gets better

My surgery is scheduled for March 16 and I am having my last period. Pain meds aren't touching the agony. Nauseous and constipated and pain shooting up and down my legs and back. Raging Endo!!!

Please tell me this goes away after the surgery. This may be the worst one in months (perfect timing). My body reassuring me that the surgery is the right way to go? Maybe.

Ugh!!!

I had fibroids, not endo, but had many of your symptoms. Immediately post surgery I felt better than I had in years. Good luck!

Re: Please tell me it gets better

I wish I could tell you that it gets better. But I can't. There's simply no way to know, especially since you have endometriosis.

Bleeding and pain associated specifically with your uterus should be gone, but any pain and symptoms related to endo can continue if all of those implants are not skillfully removed. Yeah, been there, done that!

Did you find an endo specialist? Will all of your implants be excised?

Many others have also found their last period before their hysterecttomy to be extra painful; the culprit can be stress. If your meds aren't working, it might be helpful to try some techniques to relieve stress and see if they can help get you though this last cycle.
